Alfred Dewey Brewton

Alfred (Ubba) Dewey Brewton, was born to the late Porter Brewton, Jr. and Raymonde Brewton, in Milton, FL. They both preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Jeffrey Brewton.
Alfred was baptized at an early age at Isaiah Chapel AME Zion Church. He was a faithful and devoted member throughout his life.
He was a graduate of T. R. Jackson High School in the class of 1965. Following graduation, he enlisted in the U. S. Air Force. He served in the Viet Nam conflict and was awarded a bronze star. Following his military service, he enrolled at Pensacola Jr. College and received an associate degree. He also attended the University of West Florida. He was very active in city, county, state and national government, for which he participated with passion.
Mourning his loss, yet rejoicing in his new life with Christ are: his loving and devoted companion, Vernita Owens; sons, Timothy Brewton and Rodney Brewton; daughters, Kimberly Cobb and Rhonda Brewton; bonus daughter, Tracy Hayes;
brothers, Larry Brewton (Carolyn), Frederick Brewton, and Dwayne Brewton; sisters, Yvonne Gray, Emily Hamilton, Michelle Parker, Myra Ewing (Desi), and Deniece Griffin (Hervey); sister-in-law, Isabel Brewton; (7) grandchildren; (5) bonus grandchildren; (8) great-grandchildren; Godsons, Marcus Baldwin and Pierce Gilmore; special family friends, C.T. and Lucile Johnson; best friends, Warren Gilmore, Authur and Lillian Henderson, and Clifford Hill.
He is further survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends and acquaintances.
