Alfred Leonetti, Jr., 83, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 14, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 25, 2025 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church on East 5ih Street, Greenville, NC. A funeral Mass will follow on Thursday at 11:30 a.m. A reception in the Atrium will be held in his honor, for all those who would like to attend.

Alfred Leonetti, Jr. was born on March 8. 1942. His parents were Alfred Leonetti and Thelma Mattioli. Alfred Leonetti, Jr. grew up on 29 Marlboro rd. in Upper Darby, PA. Alfred was raised in your traditional Italian family and attended mass at St. Anns Catholic Church on Sunday, and Picas for pizza with friends.

Alfred attended high school at Monsignor Bonner in Drexel Hill, where he played football and developed a lifelong love of the game, continuing to support the Eagles throughout his life.

Alfred enlisted in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War from 1961-1965. He served as a secretary under 2nd Lieutenants and Generals and was also part of the Air Rescue Squad.

Alfred Leonetti married Lois Rose Cappelli on April 24, 1965 and resided in West Chester, PA where they had two children, Alfred and Anita. Alfred was a true entrepreneur owning several businesses, an oil company, a trophy shop, and a restaurant, The Barn Wood Tavern in Kennett Square, PA.

His love for the beach eventually led his family to Brigantine, NJ where he began a career in Real Estate and opened his own company Brigantine Coast Realty as a Broker.

Alfred spent his later years, in Greenville NC where he spent 15 years working as an investigator in Child Protective Services for Pitt County. He took great pride in helping children and supporting the community.

Al was a true sportsman, who lived his life to the fullest. He enjoyed fishing, boating, going to the beach, dining out, spending time with family, and several golden retriever best friends over the years.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred J. Leonetti, Sr., his mother, Thelma Mattioli, and a sister, Corrine Leonetti.

He is survived by his: son, Alfred J. Leonetti, Ill; daughter, Anita Marie Rivera and her husband, Dean Rivera.

His grandchildren Carlie Rivera and Kyle Rivera; sister, Donna DiDomenico; and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation or American Diabetes Association in the memory of Alfred.
