Alfred E. Miller, 82 passed away on August 29, 2025 at his home in Champion, Texas.

Born October 19, 1942, in Meeker, Oklahoma, Al was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather whose ever-present smile and generous spirit touched countless lives. He married the love of his life, Linda Brasuell, on April 13, 1968. Together they raised three children while building a life rooted in hard work and devotion.

Al served with honor in the United States Air Force as Staff Sergeant, working as a C-130 Crew Chief. His service included tours in Vietnam, and support personnel with the Air Force Thunderbirds and President Richard Nixon. Al spent his career in agriculture managing several local gins, ending his career at the Loraine Co-op. He was a dedicated cotton farmer as well and later he worked for John Deere until his retirement.

He gave back to his community as a proud member of the Highland School Board for 19 years where his children attended school.He enjoyed cheering on his grandchildren at their sporting events. He loved time with family with games of Wahoo, hunting, fishing, and rooting on the St. Louis Cardinals.

He is survived by his loving wife, Linda of Roscoe; three children: Al Miller Jr. and wife Liz of Sweetwater, Jody Foster and husband Rodney of Sweetwater, and Bret Miller of Lubbock; grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Jackson, and Harrison; two brothers; Charles Miller and George Miller; three sisters, Bess Valouch, Betty Provaznik, and Emma McConnell, numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Emma Miller and one sister, Minnie McGuire.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 4th, from 5-7 pm at McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater, TX.

Al's smile and laughter will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
