Alfred F. Pohlman, 83, of Delphos, passed away Sunday, September 28, 2025 at Vancrest of Delphos surrounded by his loving family.
He was born October 27, 1941 in Allen County to Robert and Martha (Fischer) Pohlman who both preceded him in death. On August 24, 1963 he married Marlene (Recker) Pohlman who survives in Delphos.
Alfred is also survived by his sons, Randy R. (Kathy) Pohlman and Terry L. (Dawn M.) Pohlman, both of Delphos; sisters, Edith Wieging of Delphos, and Janice (Richard ‘Dick’) Hilvers of Ottoville; grandchildren, Tim (Johnelle) Pohlman, Teresa (Derek) Gephart, Nick Pohlman, Kayla (Dylan) Potter, Curtis (Ally) Pohlman, Evyn Pohlman, and Rylee Pohlman; great-grandchildren, Isaac and Owen Pohlman, and Grace and Eleanor Gephart, and baby Potter on the way.
He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Kenneth Wieging.
Alfred was a lifelong grain farmer and raised livestock. He was a barnyard engineer and fabricator. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Alfred enjoyed going to the lake, pontooning, fishing, water skiing, The Red Green Show, St. John’s boys basketball, college basketball, and square dancing.
A Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 3 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 2, at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth St., Delphos, where a Parish Wake Service will be held at 7:45 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Chronic Leukemia And Lymphoma Society or Community Health Professionals Hospice.
