Alfred Edward Rosecrans, 88, from Clark Lake, MI, went home to be with the Lord on
Wednesday, April 2, 2025. Ed was born on December 10, 1936, in Jackson, MI to Alfred
and Alverine (Moring) Rosecrans. He graduated from East Jackson High School in 1956
and proudly served in the U.S.Army as a project engineer in special projects and

was a chemist working in the development of hoses where he did develop and receive a
patent for the AQP hose during his time there. Ed thoroughly enjoyed and spent many
afternoons watching skydiving at Napoleon airport. He loved to fly which resulted in him
obtaining his pilot license to fly private planes. He also enjoyed golfing, fishing,
camping, riding motorcycles and traveling. He loved spending time with his family and
they enjoyed many family outings together. Ed loved his grandchildren and was lovingly
known as the "fun grandpa" teaching them many tricks. He will be remembered as a
devoted husband, father and grandfather, who will truly be missed by all who knew and
loved him.
Ed married the love of his life, Cathy Sue Rice, on June 7, 1975, in Manchester, MI.
They would have celebrated their 50th anniversary together this June.
Ed is survived by his wife, Cathy Rosecrans; his children, Marcia (Stu) Pickard, Diane
(William) Pemberton and Tricia (Brian) Metcalf; his sister, Alrie (Barry) Middlebrook; his
grandchildren, Dan (Maya) Pickard, Amanda Pickard, Cameron (Cierra) Pickard, Arielle

preceded in death by his parents, Alfred Rosecrans and Alverine Rosecrans Clark; and

Hope Church, 123 W. Porter St, Jackson, MI with visitation to begin at 10 a.m. until time
of service at 11am. Pastor Jeremy Toyer officiating.
