Gene Rosecrans Obituary

Visit the Memory Gardens Mortuary & Memorial Park website to view the full obituary.

Gene Arnold Rosecrans, the sixth child of Charlie and Millie, was born on March 6th, 1933.

He was married to Shirley (Bunch), who preceded him in death two years ago. Together, they had five children, and also nine grandchildren. Gene and Shirley were also great and great-great grandparents - which made them great grandparents in the truest sense of the word.

While working at an orchard, he received a call to work for the local phone company. After working for the phone company for 30 years, he was able to retire at the age of 50, which was a source of great pride for Gene.

Gene would always put the needs of others before his own. Having attended bible college and as a long-time member of the Gold Hill Church, he spent time teaching, preaching, and helping those who needed a hand. He also opened up his home to those who needed help.

Gene was an avid outdoorsman in every sense of the word. Whether it was hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, racing motorcycles - or just mowing the lawn and spending time sitting beside the house with his wife Shirley - Gene truly loved the outdoors.

His smile and humor, like in the picture above, were cherished by all.

We will miss him forever.

The service for Gene Arnold Rosecrans will be held at 2:00 PM on April 23rd, 2025 at the Gold Hill Christian Center - 775 5th Ave, Gold Hill, OR.
