Dear Susan and family-
Alfred was and still is a tribute to life and light. Celebrate his life banishing the sorrow and pain. Smile knowing that your spirits shine filled with his inspiration and love. There was no one like him. Love, Lorin Schultz

Promise for Life sculpture at Trinity Lutheran Seminary

Brad Binau

March 19, 2017

On behalf of the entire community at Trinity Lutheran Seminary in Bexley, I express our deepest sympathy to all who knew and loved Alfred Tibor. And we extend our deepest thanks for the life of this extraordinary man who designed the "Promise for Life" sculpture on our campus. A great friend of the seminary, and a great gift to Columbus and the world, every aspect of Alfred's life and work exuded the promise inscribed on the sculpture he gave us:
Out of the flames of human hate come the ashes of death.
Out of the flame of God's love comes the promise for life.
Brad A. Binau, Academic Dean, Trinity Lutheran Seminary

Your incredible sculptures at the Miller Park Library inspired us all. On Friday, 12 of us talked of your art and of our heartfelt wish to meet you and learn more about your passion for creating. May your memory be eternal. Godspeed to you, Mr. Tibor.

I began studying Mr. Tibor's life and his sculptures in a college course and became fascinated by his story. As a student of Ohio Dominican, I was graced by his art everyday on the campus. What an incredible journey this man had during his time here on earth. Although his beginnings may have been painful and unimaginable to most, he was fruitful and has used his talent in a tremendous way. Although I am saddened to hear he has passed, it is comforting to know he went peacefully. I will forever be humbled by this mans life and his memory will live on through his work.

Alfred Tibor was an extraordinary sculptor/artist. I have admired his work ever since I first saw his sculpture at the Lutheran Seminary in Bexley and others throughout Columbus. I had the privilege to meet him in his home a couple of years ago. I will never forget his story, his graciousness, and his artwork.

I have always admired Mr. Tibor's sculptures where ever I saw them including the Ohio governor's mansion. I am deeply sorry for all the pain he had to live through, but I am glad he did live through it.
