Alfred Joseph White, Jr, 82, of West Yarmouth, passed away on December 7, 2025 after a long journey with congestive heart failure.
Alfred was born on June 22, 1943 to Alfred J White Sr and Anna (Flynn) White in Dorchester Ma. After Alfred graduated from high school at Don Boscoe, he went on to join the US Army, where he served his country for 2 years. He was awarded awards of excellence for his sharp shooting skills and his physical fitness, for which he was very proud.
Alfred married Judith (Zamani) White after leaving the service and together they had 4 children: Paul, John, Alfred III and Timothy. Alfred worked for the MBTA for 31 years as a bus driver in some rough neighborhoods in Boston. Boy, did he have some stories to share about his adventures and if you haven't heard to joke about how the moron got his name, don't ask.
In 1984, Alfred married Freida (Small) White and they combined two families as Freida had 4 children of her own: Pamela, Sarah, Stephen and Michael. Together, Alfred and Freida raised a large blended family with great love and patience.
Alfred was very proud of being able to return Freida to her birth place of Cape Cod and together they purchased a home in West Yarmouth that holds many celebrations and memories. Upon Alfred's retirement form the MBTA, Alfred sought out his next place of employment at the Yarmouth Landfill, where he worked for 13 years.
Alfred was a true family man and was very dedicated and supportive of all of his children, even though he had to make some difficult decisions. He adored his grandchildren and pets. He also had 3 very close friends that he shared many happy memories with: Bobby Peckham (Eugenia), Joanie Morrison and Karl Polson. Alfred also loved football and baseball and was a devoted fan of the New England Patriots and, especially, his Boston Red Sox.
Alfred was predeceased by his sons Paul White, Stephen Small and Alfred White III. He is survived by his wife Freida White, daughters Pamela Small and Sarah Small, sons Michael Small, John White and Timothy White. He is also survived by his brother John White. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
