Celebrating the Life and Legacy of Alfredo Gómez Baltazar "There are lives that leave footprints time can never erase. Their strength, their example, and their love live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know them." With deep love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of Alfredo Gómez Baltazar, a man of unwavering integrity, a devoted husband, an exemplary father, a cherished grandfather, lovingly known to his grandchildren as "Tito," a beloved brother, and a loyal friend. His journey through life leaves behind a profound legacy of hard work, faith, discipline, and love, one that will continue to inspire generations to come. Alfredo was born on January 11, 1939, in Mexico City, Mexico, to Eduardo Gómez Herrera and Rosario Baltazar Romero, who have since passed away. He was the second of six siblings: Manuel, Homero, Arcenio, Oralia, and Beatriz. Of all of them, his sister Beatriz is the only one who survives him. From a young age, Alfredo displayed a great passion for learning, hard work, and organization. He completed his elementary education in Monclova, Coahuila, and later in Atenquique, Jalisco. He attended high school in Guadalajara, Jalisco, and continued his professional training at the IPN School of Engineering in Mexico City, where he began to forge his path in the field of construction and engineering. Throughout his career, Alfredo devoted himself to construction and engineering, serving in the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) and later contributing his talents to the Church's construction department. His leadership, vision, and dedication left a lasting mark on the projects he touched and the people he worked alongside. On February 9, 1975, Alfredo chose to be baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, a decision that profoundly shaped his life. On April 14, 1976, he and his beloved wife, Zenaida "Zeni" Gómez, were sealed for time and eternity in the Mesa, Arizona Temple. Over the years, Alfredo served faithfully in many callings, including branch president, bishop, and counselor in the stake presidency. Together with Zeni, he served a full-time mission during the construction of the Guadalajara México Temple and later served two terms as a counselor in the temple presidency. In his later years, he was blessed to serve as a sealer in both the Guadalajara México Temple and the Timpanogos Utah Temple. He is survived by his beloved wife, Zeni, his six children: Arcenio, Antonio, Alfredo, Eduardo, Silvia, and Hugo, along with 20 grandchildren, a newborn great-granddaughter, and a great-grandson soon to arrive. Those who knew Alfredo will remember him as a man of strong character, disciplined, and attached to his principles. Known for his seriousness and integrity, he preferred to speak with actions rather than words. Although he was reserved in expressing his feelings, his life was filled with love for his family, dedication to his faith, and commitment to his work. The Gómez Márquez family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude for your love, prayers, and presence as we join together to honor Alfredo's life and celebrate the beautiful and lasting legacy he leaves behind.
