Obituary published on Legacy.com by Serenity Funeral Home of Bluffdale on Nov. 20, 2025.
Adam Ryan Weeks, 53, returned peacefully to his Heavenly Home on November 17 at 3:33 p.m. at his home in Eagle Mountain, Utah. He passed after enduring the long-term effects of muscular dystrophy and heart failure, surrounded by his loving wife, Codi Weeks, and his children: Lance, Adam, Jenson, Kieran, and Greta.
Adam was born in Provo, Utah, to Skip and Jan Weeks. He is one of seven children: Amie (who preceded him in death), Ashelee, Trevor, Jonathan, Brandon, and Chelsea. He spent his early years in San Diego, where he loved exploring the La Jolla tide pools, playing on the beach, and chasing lizards and snakes in the canyons around their home. He was an amateur herpetologist. Whatever Adam did, he did with passion-he never did anything halfway. He loved swimming in the backyard pool.
In 1978, Adam was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy, a severe neuromuscular disease that causes muscles to atrophy over time. While he became aware that his disability sometimes limited his ability to do what other kids did, he never let that stop him from fully engaging in life and trying new things. He always courageously did everything he could to normalize his activities, and he never complained.
He was active in Cub Scouting and Boy Scouting. He achieved the rank of Life Scout and loved going on adventures with his troop. After the family moved back to Utah in 1984, he settled into his new life in Sandy, where he was surrounded by many friends who loved him. He was always authentic in his relationships with everyone he knew.
When it came time for Adam to learn to drive, he became obsessed with all things automotive and speed. He earned his own money to buy his first car-a Datsun 240Z. Eventually, he began racing go-karts and loved connecting with the automotive and racing community. He was always surrounded, respected, and loved by this extended automotive family. His determination to never give up when he wanted to make something better, faster, or more refined, or when learning a new skill, he was remarkable. He met everyone exactly where they were rather than expecting them to be something else for his convenience.
Adam graduated from Alta High School and soon became the father of his beautiful oldest daughter, Cedie. She was, and is, a shining star in his heart. Cedie is now the mother of four children: Allie, Owen, Lincoln, and Russell.
Before long, Adam met the love of his life, Codi Ann Rostron. They soon married and began their family, welcoming their oldest son, Lance. Adam began working in the carbon fiber industry and quickly fell in love with its possibilities. Eventually, he started his own business, Ultra Carbon Fiber, creating and selling beautiful rings and jewelry made from carbon fiber. His creations were sold around the world and adored by customers everywhere.
Later, the business was expanded with his lifelong friend, Jeremy Smith, to produce carbon fiber tubing and even replacement carbon fiber sunroofs to reduce the weight of racing cars. Their tubing found its way into remarkable places-including the NASA Space Shuttle.
Over the years, more children joined their family: Adam, Jenson, Kieran, and Greta completed their loving home. Adam was always an ideal husband and father. He loved his children and grandchildren deeply. He taught them crucial life lessons and practical skills that will bless them throughout their lives. His wife and children often became his hands and feet, enabling him to guide them-whether replacing the brakes on the family car or upgrading the garbage disposal.
Adam has a hilarious sense of humor and loves to tease and joke with everyone he knows.
Another of Adam's passions was gardening. He became a dedicated researcher, learning everything necessary to improve and perfect both their garden and the care of their fourteen chickens in their lively backyard. He loved eating the produce his family grew. Their entire community was blessed by the herbed olive oil and a variety of organic microgreens they harvested to sell. Adam and Codi loved meeting people at the summer farmers' market and sharing their bounty. Adam took great joy in the beautiful process of nature-growing tiny seeds into nourishing food for the table.
Adam knows and loves God and would always seek to live with integrity and light. Adam is a man of deep faith and a dedicated disciple of Jesus Christ.
Adam is a passionate patriot who deeply loves his country.
Adam loves his fellowmen and is known for his kindness and generosity. He loves sharing his blessings. He is admired by everyone who knows him. As one friend recently said to Codi, "Adam's example of showing up for the small things is something that speaks louder than words. I mean every word when I say I hope I can be a parent like you and Adam are. I look up to you both so much and am grateful I was able to meet and learn from Adam's example."
