Hillside Funerals & Cremations - LaredoAlfredo Gutierrez, 92, passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, surrounded by his loving family by his side. He was born on August 20, 1933, in San Antonio, Texas, to the late Quirino Gutierrez and Nazaria Salinas Gutierrez.
Mr. Gutierrez dedicated over 30 years of his life to the City of Laredo's Street Department, where he served as a foreman, earning the respect and admiration of his community. In addition to his work in public service, Alfredo honorably served in the Texas National Guard for over nine years. He was a man of laughter, kindness, and unwavering commitment to his family and friends. A faithful follower of his faith, he found peace in the messages of his beloved pastor, Joel Osteen.
He is preceded in death by his son, Alfredo Gutierrez Jr., brothers: Quirino Gutierrez Jr., Leonardo Gutierrez, Rafael Gutierrez, Jesus (Chuy) Gutierrez, Jose Gutierrez; sisters: Josepha (Pepa) Gutierrez Ward, Martha Gutierrez Gonzales, Nazaria Gutierrez Zavala, and Maria Gutierrez Soza.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Alamar V. Gutierrez, daughters: Margarita Gutierrez, Yolanda G. Castillo, Alicia Luna; grandchildren: Gilberto Castillo, Ana Laura Quintero, Christabel Marie Gutierrez, Alex Alfredo Gutierrez, Alfonzo Gutierrez, Jino John Luna, Erica Melissa Luna; great grandchildren: Victoria Isabella Luna, Scarlet Emma Gonzalez, Mia Nayeli Quintero, Jayden Castillo, Jazmin Castillo, Audrina Nicole Gutierrez, and Alisa Jade Gutierrez.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, from 4 pm to 9 pm at Hillside Funerals & Cremations. A Liturgy of the Word will commence at 7 pm.
Services will conclude in the chapel.
