With Loving Remembrance
We celebrate the life of Alice Bailey, a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and servant of God. She joined Macedonia Baptist Church in Wake Forest, North Carolina at an early age and peacefully departed this life on March 3, 2026, just two days before her birthday, leaving a legacy of love, compassion, and service.
Alice was born on March 5, 1948, in North Carolina to the late Ezra Bailey and Josephine Rogers Bailey. She was raised in a close-knit family alongside her siblings Grover C. Bailey, John W. Bailey, Edith Massenburg, and Violet “Bea” Bailey.
She was united in Holy Matrimony to Henry E. Richardson, and from this union one child was born. Through her daughter, her family grew to include five grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren, whose laughter and joy meant so much to her.
In her adult life, Alice was baptized as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed reading and studying the scriptures. She was known for her kindness, compassion, and willingness to care for others. Her devotion was especially evident in the loving care she provided to her sister, Violet Beatrice “Bea” Thompson for eight years after Bea suffered a stroke.
Alice leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Juanita Manley (Keith Manley); five grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; siblings Grover C. Bailey and Edith Massenburg; and extended family in Raleigh and Wake Forest, North Carolina.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Richardson; her parents, Ezra and Josephine Bailey; her brother, John Waymon Bailey; and her sister, Violet Beatrice Thompson.
Alice’s life reflected faith, love, and compassion, and her legacy will live on in the many lives she touched.
