Alice Ann was born on February 18, 1943, to Warren and Dorothy Chase in Howell, Michigan.
Her first home was on a farm in Fowlerville, Michigan. Her dad died due to a farming machine accident when Alice was 20 months old. Dorothy then sold the farm and moved to Owosso, Michigan and lived with her mother, grand-mother and Uncle.
Alice Ann attended the Owosso Public Schools at Roosevelt Elementary, Central Junior High School and Owosso High School, graduating in 1961. She participated in Brownies, Girl Scouts, roller skating and church activities at West Owosso Church of Christ which later became Owosso Church of Christ. She remained active with her graduating class with monthly dinners and reunion planning.
Alice Ann met her husband, Jack Lee Bliss while in high school. Jack returned from the Army and married Alice Ann on July 11, 1964. She was very involved in church life as a Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School teacher, bible studies and communion assistant and others. They celebrated the birth and raised 3 children: Leann, Todd and Kristin.
With all her children in school, Alice Ann went to work for the Owosso Public Schools. She began as a Title I Assistant, helping children with their reading. Later she worked 13½ years at the Owosso Junior High School as the Counseling Office Secretary. She loved being around all of the students.
Alice Ann had many hobbies which brought her joy and laughter: She loved to go antiquing with Jack; Participating in Red Hat Society activities; Lovingly tending her flower garden and silk flower arranging for the church, Leann's wedding and her home; Reading with students at Emerson & Central Elementary schools; Watching "I Love Lucy" shows; Scrapbooking; and loving her cats.
