Mrs. Alice Louise Cobb, 79, of Columbus, GA passed away Thursday, January 29, 2026 at the Columbus Hospice House in Columbus, GA.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Cobb was born July 5, 1946 in Newport, AR, daughter of the late Melvin Simons and Louise Slabaugh. She retired from the Civil Service on Ft. Benning with over 25 years of service. Mrs. Cobb enjoyed reading, word search and crafts. She also enjoyed working in her yard and was known as a “handy woman”. Mrs. Cobb was fiercely independent and made sure all of her children knew how to take care of themselves and their families. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and they loved their Emmy. She never missed an opportunity to show it or let them know.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ricky Dean Simons.
Mrs. Cobb is survived by three daughters, Cindi Noel and husband David, Bonnie Cantrell and husband Brian and Audrina DeBall and husband Paul; a son, Richard Cobb and wife Shannon; two sisters, Vicki Trawick (Dusty) and Gwenda Royce; three brothers, Keith Simons (Dora), Jackie Simons and Dennis Simons; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as several extended family members and friends.
