Mr. Marx was born November 13, 1928, in Evansville, IN son of the late Louis J. Marx and Ruth Agnes Beadles Marx. He had retired from Bucyrus Erie after many years as a Mill Operator in the machine shop. Mr. Marx was also an active member and deacon at First Southern Baptist Church, Evansville, IN. After he moved to Alabama to be with his family, he and his late wife, Ms. Ruth, were part of Silver Run Baptist Church, Seale, AL where they worshiped with family and friends. Mr. Marx loved to read, especially westerns, and spend time sitting on his porch enjoying the day. He was also a farmer and once had a successful catfish farm.
He will be missed in our daily routine; however, the solid foundation he has built for our family will continue to sustain us as our family grows. Thank you for living out your faith in Christ in your daily life, thus setting a lasting example for us.
Mr. Marx was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Ruth Marx; three brothers, Jerry Jerome Marx, Wayne Eugene Marx and Robert T. Marx; his wife of 60 years, Ruth Nantz Marx.
Survivors include his two daughters, Glenda Selman (Rick), Seale, AL and Judy Gauer (John), Evansville, IN; two sons, Kenneth “Kenny” Marx (Jennifer), Newburgh, IN and Steve Marx (Debbie), Lynnville, IN; numerous grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and a growing number of great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in his memory to the First Southern Baptist Church, Evansville, IN church library - fsbcevansville.com.
