Alice Einhorn Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Thomas M. Gallagher Funeral Home on Jan. 26, 2026.
In Loving Memory of Alice Einhorn

Alice Einhorn (née Greenberg) passed away on January 20 in New York City at the age of 80.

Alice was born on February 20, 1945, and grew up in Queens, New York, in a close-knit Jewish family. Family was always at the center of her life, and the close bonds she formed early on remained a constant source of comfort, meaning, and joy throughout her years.

Alice spent her career teaching elementary school. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Toledo and a graduate degree from Bank Street College of Education, and she approached her work with patience, care, and a strong sense of responsibility.

Alice's greatest joy was her family. She was the devoted mother of two children, Jodi Einhorn and Daniel Einhorn, who were the center of her world. Her love for them was constant and unwavering, and she showed up for them consistently with pride, care, and deep commitment.

Alice is survived by her children, Jodi Einhorn and Daniel Einhorn; Daniel's wife, Rebecca; her nieces Sharon Vocatura and Julie Rocco; her great-nephews Michael, Joel, and Adam Portnoy; and her former husband, Stephen Einhorn, and his wife, Maxine Tall. She was predeceased by her loving sister, Rita.

Alice will be remembered with love by all who knew her.
