Mary Ellen Thornton Einhorn, 71 of Naples Florida passed away at North Collier Hospital on Friday December 5, 2025, surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Mary Ellen was born on January 9, 1954, in Plainfield, NJ she grew up in Rahway, NJ with her parents Edward and Mary Elizabeth Thornton and six siblings.

MaryEllen went to nursing school and became an LPN, she loved nursing and continued to be a nurse taking care of people for 50 years. Mary Ellen met and married the love of her life Anthony Einhorn on February 4, 1978. Together they raised five children and remained happy and still very much in love for 37 years before her beloved husband passed away in 2015. MaryEllen also lost her youngest daughter Angela Dawn Einhorn at the age of 35 in 2020, she never quite recovered the happiness she had before the loss of her husband and youngest child.

MaryEllen loved to play board games with her grandchildren, bingo and Yahtzee on her tablet and she never saw a Hallmark movie she didn't love. MaryEllen is remembered with love and missed very much by her four children and their spouses MaryEllen Einhorn of Naples, FL, MaryAnn Einhorn Naples, FL, Alicia and George Fogel of Cape Coral, FL and Anthony and Amber Einhorn of Lehigh Acres, FL, her 9 grandchildren Raina, Scarlett, Jonas, Zoey, Eli, Ethan, Max, Elijah and Matthew, as well as her six siblings and their spouses Paul Thornton of Newark, NJ, Kathie and Jim Cochrane of Surf City, NJ, Greg and Pat Thornton of Montgomery, AL, Barbara and Rob Blyth of Surf City, NJ , David and Betsy Thornton of Rahway, NJ and Brian and Christine Thornton, of Clark, NJ. As well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her parents Edward and Mary Elizabeth Thornton as well as her loving husband Anthony Einhorn and youngest daughter Angela Einhorn.

Following her wishes, cremation occurred and her ashes will be spread with her beloved husband and daughter's ashes later by her children and grandchildren.
