Obituary of Alice Salazar Fernandez
Alice Salazar Fernandez, of Pearland, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2024.
Alice was born in Houston, Texas on December 31, 1931 to Daniel and Dolores Salazar. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, her loving husband of 54 years, Augustin G. Fernandez, and siblings Sipriano Salazar, Lucy Benavides, Caroline Garcia, and Daniel Salazar. She is survived by her brother Alfred Salazar.
Alice loved working for the City of Houston and retired after 28 years of service. She enjoyed reading the newspaper, cooking, gardening, and watching soap operas and game shows, especially Jeopardy. Deeply faithful, she loved visiting the Basilica of Our Lady of San Juan del Valle. In her younger years, she liked to travel and go on camping trips with her family. In her later years, she enjoyed playing bingo with her friends at the senior center. Most importantly, she enjoyed being surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
Alice will be missed by her daughters Cathy Fernandez, Suzi Larrasquitu and husband Raymond, and son David Fernandez, as well as, grandchildren Alison, Trey, Daniel, Eli, Raeanne, David, Kacey, Dylan, and Kaley. She was truly loved by her family and will remain forever in our hearts.
Services to honor Alice's life will begin with a visitation at Clayton Funeral Home of Pearland on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, from 5:30 to 8:00 pm, with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 pm.
