Alice Blanch Fifield (Broad), 91, of El Dorado Springs, Missouri, passed away peacefully in her home on October 20, 2025. She was born on June 12, 1934, in Butler, Pennsylvania, Alice was the daughter of Charles and Alice Broad.
Alice was first married in 1953 and blessed with five children. In 1971, she married John Fifield, and together they left Phoenix, Arizona, and relocated to Denver, Colorado, where they pursued their dream of farming. In 1972, they established their family farm in El Dorado Springs, Missouri, where they would raise her children and in 1974, Alice and John welcomed their first child together.
Alice worked in healthcare until her retirement at age 60. She enjoyed canning, crocheting, knitting, quilting, needle point, and other crafts. She loved to cook and will be remembered for cooking the best Thanksgiving meals.
Alice shared enjoyment with John for flying, and Alice earned her private pilot's license, and enjoyed her time with John in their own plane.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Alice Broad; her brothers, Chuck and Richard Broad; her daughter, Carol Lancer; and her devoted husband of 51 years, John Fifield.
She is survived by her daughters Susanna Thompson and her husband Steve of Wichita, Kansas; Linda Carsten and her husband David of El Dorado Springs, Missouri; Gail Jonason of Joplin, Missouri; and Anne Walters and her husband Gabe of Joplin, Missouri; and her son, Don Jonason, and his wife Melanie of Pagosa Springs, Colorado. Alice was blessed with eleven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. She will be sincerely missed by her family, friends, and neighbors.
In accordance with her wishes, Alice will be cremated, and her ashes will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband at City Cemetery in El Dorado Springs, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Hospice Compasses of Lamar, Missouri, an organization that provided compassionate care during Alice's final days.
