Larry Bruce "Red" Fifield, a man of spirited adventure and boundless love for his family, passed away on October 10, 2025, in Silverwood, Michigan. Born on July 11, 1969, in Cass City, Michigan, to Gary and Marjorie (Deeg) Fifield, Red grew up with a zest for life that would define his years.
Red's early years in Cass City were filled with the laughter and camaraderie of his family, including his brother Ed (Sheri) Fifield, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Raymond Fifield, and sister Denise Fifield, whose memories he cherished deeply.
A proud patriot, Red served his country with honor in the United States Marine Corps, a testament to his dedication and courage. His love story began when he married his soulmate, Brenda Delong, on October 15, 1992, in Lapeer, Michigan. Together, they built a life filled with joy and the welcoming sounds of a growing family, including their daughters Denise (Marc) Funderburg and Laura (Shawn) Eddy, and the blessings of four grandchildren who were the light of his life.
Red was a man of many talents and interests. His hands, ever capable, could fix anything that needed mending, and his adventurous spirit found him traveling across the country, participating in Civil War reenactments. He had a passion for capturing the beauty of the world through his photographs of sunrises and sunsets, and he cherished the tranquility of fishing, the excitement of camping, and the thrill of uncovering hidden treasures with his metal detector.
Above all, Red's greatest joy was the time he spent with his grandchildren. Each moment was an opportunity to share stories or simply bask in the glow of their youthful energy. His legacy is one of love, laughter, and the courage to embrace life's adventures.
He was a man who lived fully, loved deeply, and left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him. His adventurous soul, handy skills, and spirited nature will be remembered fondly by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of crossing paths with him.
A Memorial Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at Jansen Family Funeral Home – Columbiaville.
