Alice Frederico

The family of Alice Frederico of Philadelphia is heartbroken to announce her passing in the loving presence of her two daughters, Alicia and Patricia, on February 10, 2025, at the age of 94 years after a brief illness. Alice lived her life and every moment of it in service and kindness to her family. She was a beacon of confidence for her family and touched the lives of her neighbors and many friends. Her journey on this earth was marked by love, compassion, and faith in God. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of her family, friends, and many more whose lives she touched and who will remember her fondly.
She was a loving and amazingly family-focused woman who always greeted the family with a hello kiss. She enjoyed attending church with her friends at St. Monica's and was a walker of epic proportions from her home to center city and back. A fellow Philadelphian recently offered her a motorcycle ride, and it tickled her pink to receive the offer, although she answered him with her wry smile and classic response, "Get the hell out of here." Her life was through and through as a Philadelphian, and as such, she had a remarkable directness about her; at the same time, she was always willing to give you the shirt off her back. She loved entertaining at her house, cooking many, many, many items for every meal, and just enjoying having her family and friends around her.
A consummate coffee Coolatta drinker, tiramisu connoisseur and lover of sfogliatelle, Alice enjoyed all the timeless treats from Italy. Alice was also a fantastic newspaper reader and enjoyed sending clips about something that caught her eye that you might find interesting. These were more than clips but a gentle nudge to let you know she was thinking of you. She had an innate intelligence, fast wit, and a steel trap of a mind and was always ready for a conversation, argument, or to tell you the way it is. And everyone who knew Alice loved this about her!
Alice was predeceased by her loving husband, Frank, and is lovingly missed by her daughters Alicia Frederico-Senese (Dr. Jeff Senese) and Patricia Girone (Dr. Joseph Girone); her grandchildren, Dr. Gianna Girone, Francesca Girone, Mia Senese, Joseph Girone and Daniel Senese. Alice was predeceased by her parents Rocco and Mary D'Antonio. She is also predeceased by her brother Rocco D'Antonio, and survived by her loving sister, Clotilda Ferraro. Alice will also be lovingly missed by her many nieces and nephews, whom she has always kept in her thoughts and prayers.
Relatives and friends are invited to her VIEWING Monday evening February 17, 7PM-9PM at The Monti-Rago Funeral Home, 2531 South Broad Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 19148 and Tuesday morning February 18, 9am-10:30am at The Church of Saint Monica 17th and Ritner Streets Philadelphia PA 19145. Followed by her funeral mass at 11AM. INT. Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers family request donations be made to Saint Monica's church 2422 S 17th St, Philadelphia, PA 1914.
