Alice Jimerson Gibson

Funeral Services for Alice Jimerson Gibson, 92, of the Pleasant Hill community will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, from the Chapel of Bumpers Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Turner and Rev. Chris Nihart officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Alice Jimerson Gibson passed away on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at the Washington County Nursing Home in Chatom. Born on August 21, 1933, in Choctaw County, Alabama, she was the daughter of Clarence Reese Jimerson and Bertie Jenkins Jimerson, and was one of seven siblings. Alice worked as an inspector for Solomon Brothers Sewing Factory until her retirement. She was married to Samuel Mason Gibson until his passing in 1998. Known for her profound faith, Alice was dedicated to serving Jesus and was a devoted member of Red Springs Assembly. She cherished reading the Bible, often completing at least three chapters a day, and enjoyed doing Bible word searches until she was unable to continue. Gardening was another passion of hers, whether cultivating vegetables or flowers, always ensuring they were well cared for. As a loving and nurturing mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, her absence will be deeply felt by her family, church, and community. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Dew and husband Wayne of Gilbertown; daughter, Betty Dew of Gilbertown; son, Randy Gibson and wife Darlene of Gilbertown; daughter Sandra Gibson and husband Greg of Silas; sister, Sybil Frederick and husband Delbert of Hammond, Louisiana; ten grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Mason Gibson; parents, Clarence Reese Jimerson and Bertie Jenkins Jimerson; son-in-law, Jimmy Dew; and brothers, Reese Lamar Jimerson, John L. Jimerson, Clarence Junior Jimerson, Rayvon Lee Jimerson, and Bobby Jimerson.

Pallbearers include Ken Dew, Michael Dew, Jim Dew, Steven Gibson, Joshua Gibson, and Garrett Gibson.

Honorary Pallbearers include Joel Snow, Derrick Sullivan, and Tanner Sullivan.
