Funeral Services for Leonard Patrick "Pat" Murray, 84, of the New Hope community will be held Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 12:00 noon from the Chapel of Bumpers Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Turner officiating. Burial will follow in the Camp Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Pat Murray passed away on October 15, 2025, at Pineview Health and Rehab in Waynesboro, Mississippi. He was born on February 12, 1941, to Jesse Sylvester Murray and Helen Omega Dyess Murray, being the only son among three siblings. Pat was married to his beloved Nelda Fay Jenkins Murray for 64 wonderful years until her passing in January 2025. He dedicated many years of his career to Alcoa Aluminum Company before serving as a jailer for the Choctaw County Sheriff's Department until his retirement. In his younger days, he was an enthusiastic hunter and remained a passionate fisherman until he could no longer pursue the sport. If he wasn't at home, you could often find him on the road enjoying long drives, a favorite pastime. Above all else, he cherished the moments spent with his grandchildren, who were the light of his life. Pat will be deeply missed as a father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.

He is survived by his daughter, Ashley Ramos of Lake Charles, Louisiana; son, Daniel Murray (Christine) of Chunchula, Alabama; son, John Murray (Kim) of Richton, Mississippi; sister, Jane Morgan of Waynesboro, Mississippi; grandchildren, Claudia Collins, Andrew Murray, Vanesse Sellers, Christian Murray, Brandon Sellers, Neal Walley, and Kyle Walley; seventeen great-grandchildren; nieces and nephew, Angie Morgan, Tracie Taylor, and Lee Oberturf; and many other family members and friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Nelda Fay Jenkins Murray; parents, Jesse Sylvester Murray and Helen Omega Dyess Murray; and sister, Judy Oberturf.

Pallbearers include Chris Rutledge, Anthony Rutledge, Kasen Walley, Shane Jenkins, Jeff Turner, and Benji Turner.
