Dan Dean Campbell

Funeral Services for Dan Dean Campbell, 90, of Livingston, Alabama will be held at 11 AM on Friday, October 3, 2025, at the Livingston First Baptist Church with Rev. Thomas Fletcher officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Central Cemetery in Emelle, Alabama. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Dan Campbell departed from this life on Monday, September 29th, 2025. Born on April 20, 1935, in Camden, Alabama, he was the son of Archie Waverly Campbell and Janie Gregory Campbell and brother of Archie Donald Campbell. Dan graduated with a Mathematics Degree from Troy University in 1956. Throughout life, Dan was an avid cattle farmer and gunsmith while simultaneously working for Gulf States Paper Company in Demopolis. While Dan retired from Gulf States after 38 years of service, he continued with his true passions of farming and gunsmithing until shortly before his death. A devoted member of the Livingston First Baptist Church, he was a long-standing Sunday School member, a faithful deacon (where he served as Chairman), and an active member of the Gideon's. He was a brother in the Livingston, Alabama Masonic Lodge #41. Dan was a caring father, grandfather, brother, son, and friend to many. His larger than life presence will be profoundly missed.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Bonnie Spann Campbell, of Livingston; son Donald Campbell (Linda) of Panama City Beach, Florida and granddaughter Darby Campbell, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; son Bryan Campbell of Grand Bay, Alabama and grandsons Camden Campbell of Gillette, Wyoming and Peter Campbell of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; and numerous other family members and friends.

He is preceded in death by parents, Archie Waverly Campbell and Janie Gregory Campbell and his brother, Archie Donald Campbell.

Pallbearers include Peter Campbell, Jimmy Edmonds, Tommy Gregory, Alan Hall, Nick Hauser, Leslie Hines, Darrell Hoggle and Jack Warbington.

Honorary pallbearers are John Besh, Bryan Crawford, Ed Hauser, Richard Moore, Julian Ptomey and Bobby Williams.

The Campbell Family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at Sumter Health and Rehab for the care provided.

In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions be made to Livingston First Baptist Church or The Gideon's International.
