Funeral services for Douglas Turner, of Needham will be held Thursday October 2, 2025, at 12:00 P.M. from the Chapel of Bumpers Funeral Home with Rev. Doug May officiating. Burial will follow in the Brightwater Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 2, 2025, from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at Bumpers Funeral Home.

Mr. Turner passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2025, in Tuscaloosa Alabama. Born on May 29, 1931, in Needham, he was the son of Jack Austin Turner and Lyda Jimerson Turner. He worked in quality control at Georgia Pacific until he retired. He cherished his family and believed family was the most important thing in his life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing off the riverbank, and woodworking. He was so proud of the bird houses he built and enjoyed every step of the process.

He is survived by his daughters, Kathy Adams (Frank), Jackie Carpenter (Todd); sister, Margaret Taylor; four grandchildren, Eddie Adams (Heather), Beth Adams, Matthew Long, Jenny Miller (Lane); six great grandchildren, Dayton Lewis, McClay Carson (Jake), Dawson Hand, Caanon Long, Camilla Lane Miller, Charles Wallace Miller; and two great-great grandchildren, Lucy Kate Carson, Mack Carson.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack Austin Turner and Lyda Jimerson Turner; wife Katie Mae Wallace Turner; brother, Eugene Turner.

Pallbearers include Eddie Adams, Matthew Long, Lane Miller, Shawn Williams, Roger Williamson, and Eric Turner.
