Alice L. Goschka, age 101, of Jonesville, passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at the Hillsdale County Medical Care Facility. She was born on April 17, 1921, in VanWert, Ohio, to Elmer and Velma (Miller) Bigham. She married Charles Goschka on February 24, 1941, and he preceded her in death in December of 1988.
Alice graduated from VanWert High School in 1939 and went on to work as a secretary and later as an office manager for various auto parts stores. Alice was a woman of God and devoted much of her time to St. Paul's Lutheran Church. She was a member of the Ladies Guild, the Banner and Quilting Club, and the Hilltopper Club.
Alice is survived by two sons; Dean (Kathy) Goschka of Jonesville, and James (Ginger) Goschka of Mishawaka, Indiana, four grandchildren, Janel (Mike) Redman, DeAnna (Ken) Mann, Amy (Kevin) Wood and Kyla Engel; ten great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; a niece, Linda Lewis; and one daughter-in-law, Judy Goschka.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 47 years, Charles; one son, Paul Goschka; a sister, Mary Lou Shellabarger, and a grandson Joseph Goschka.
A funeral service for Alice Goschka will take place on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at 1:00 PM at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hillsdale with Pastor Sean Willman officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday from 12:00 PM until the time of the service.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Eagle Funeral Home in Jonesville. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Paul's Lutheran Church or the Hillsdale County Medical Care Facility.
