Alice Greenwood Obituary
Alice passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Anniston Health and Rehab surrounded by her family. She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, James Greenwood, parents, Eliah and Ida Layton, and her son in-law, Joe Nelson.
She leaves behind her children, Cynthia Brown (Buck), Becky Nelson, and Jimmy Greenwood (Kelli); grandchildren, Chad Brown (Megan), Nicholas Goble (Christa), Allison Elston (Sammie), Jake Nelson (Jess), and Bret Hilyer (Amanda); several chosen grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers for Mrs. Greenwood will be Chad Brown, Jake Nelson, Lawson Goble, Grayson Brooks, Sammie Elston , Nick Goble, Logan Goble and Buddy Watson.
Mrs. Greenwood was a lifelong resident of Calhoun County. She retired from Majic Chef in Anniston. Mrs. Greenwood was a member of Hill Crest Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Greenwood loved and adored her children, grandchildren and her great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Anniston Health and Rehab for the excellent care she has been given in the last few months. She will be greatly missed.
