Alice L. (Mollitor) Hannahs, the cherished and beloved matriarch of her family passed away peacefully at the age of 99 years, 10 months, and 6 days on August 26, 2025. Born on October 20, 1925, in Watertown Township, Michigan, Alice was the 10th of 12 surviving children born to Peter P. and Blanch F. (Hathaway) Mollitor. She was the last of her siblings to be reunited with her family. Alice's life was marked by her friendly nature, loving heart, and selfless devotion to her family and friends.
Alice was a 1944 graduate of Old Everett High School. She met the love of her life Logan Hannahs and in 1947 they were married. Together they raised 5 children; Debi, Jim, Gene, Bob, and Ron. Alice left her career as a homemaker and went to work for the Lansing School District in food service and retired as the head baker at Lansing Everett High School with over 20 years of service.
She is survived by her loving family, including her daughter, Deboreh L. Woodward of Holt; sons James L. (Virginia) Hannahs of Leslie, Robert G. (Linda) Hannahs of Potterville, and Ronald L. (Linda) Hannahs of Charlotte; her cherished 9 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren. Alice also leaves behind many adored nieces, nephews, and friends.
Alice was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 64 years, Logan F. Hannahs, son Gene E. Hannahs, grandson Brent E. Hannahs, and son-in-law Army Spc. 6 Ron Woodward.
Before she lost her eyesight due to macular degeneration, Alice was an avid reader of romance and mystery novels. She also enjoyed crocheting Afghan blankets (hairpin lace was her specialty), embroidering pillowcases, table runners, and tablecloths. Most times, her needlework was a gift to family members, friends, or someone she just met.
Alice will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love and the cherished memories she created will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched and will continue to guide her family and friends.
As we bid farewell to Alice L. Hannahs, we celebrate a life well-lived, a journey completed with dignity and love. Her story does not end with her passing but continues in the lives of those she has impacted. May she rest in peace, knowing that her legacy endures with the laughter she shared and the smiles she created.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place.
