Private Interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Alice, daughter of Harvey and Emma (Nees) Freese was born on October 15, 1927, in Clara City, MN. She attended St. Thomas High School in St. Paul, MN. The family then moved to Lake City, Iowa. During WWII, she served her country at the War Department in Washington D.C. After returning home to Iowa, Alice married Norman Heisterkamp on September 9, 1947, at St. Joseph Church in Carroll, Iowa, where they made their home and Alice was a devoted homemaker. After the children got older, Alice worked at Bourns in Ames, Iowa before moving to Albert Lea, MN, where she worked until retirement at Land O'Lakes/Schweigert's Foods. After Norm passed away, she worked part-time at Senior Resources of Freeborn County and helped take care of the offerings at St. Theodore's Catholic Church, where she was a member since 1969. Alice enjoyed gardening with Norm, taking care of her yard, playing a multitude of card games, especially Pinochle, and spending time with family and friends.
