Alice Leight

Alice Leight, 74, of Millstone Township, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2025. Born on March 18, 1951, in Newark, New Jersey, Alice was the beloved daughter of the late Betty and John Leight. At the age of six, she moved with her family to Old Bridge, New Jersey, where she spent her formative years. She graduated from Madison Township High School and went on to attend beautician school, earning her hairdresser's license - a career she cherished for over 20 years. Alice found great joy in her work and in the many relationships she built along the way. Later in life, she married Charles, with whom she shared countless happy memories. Together, they enjoyed life's simple pleasures and each other's companionship. A woman of many passions, Alice had a deep love for crafting, and her creativity blossomed through everything she made. She was also a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys and never missed watching a game. In her quieter moments, she loved watching Judge Judy and the Hallmark Channel, both of which brought her comfort and joy. But above all, Alice's greatest joy came from spending time with her family. Her warmth, generosity, and kind heart touched everyone who knew her. Alice is predeceased by her loving parents, Betty and John Leight, and by her brother Robert Leight. She is survived by her devoted husband, Charles, and her cherished siblings: Ann, John, Joe, Jim, Jeff and his wife Marilyn, Scott and his wife Sharon, and Kathy and her husband Jim. She is also lovingly remembered by her many nieces and nephews: Tracey, Kristy, Denise, Joseph, Nicholas, Carly, Jeffery Jr., Jessica, Eric, Alex, Brian, Kevin, Robbie Jr., Dylan, Elizabeth, Demetrios, Anna and her grand-niece, Isabella. Alice's legacy of love, laughter, and compassion will live on in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know her. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her. A Funeral service will be at 10:30 AM on Friday at St. Thomas the Apostle located at 1 St Thomas Plaza Old Bridge, New Jersey 08857. Interment will be in Holy Cross, The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals and Cremation Service, 3377 US Highway 9, Old Bridge, New Jersey.
