Alice Irene Lomax, a beloved mother, sister, and aunt, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at Norton Clark Hospital, at the age of 83. She was born in Anderson, South Carolina on July 2, 1942, and was the cherished daughter of the late Walter Boyd Lomax Sr. and Louise Gibert Lomax.
Alice lived a life rooted in strong Christian faith, wholly devoted to the Lord Jesus Christ. Her Christian beliefs were reflected in her consistent kindness and compassion she showed to others. As a faithful follower of the ministry of the prophet of this last day and age, Brother William Marrion Branham, Alice stood in unity with believers around the world through the Worldwide Tape Ministry. She was also an enthusiastic supporter of the missionary efforts conducted by The Voice of God Recordings, dedicating herself wholeheartedly to the work of the Lord.
Music was an important part of her life – she enjoyed playing the piano and singing hymns, which often filled her home with comfort and joy. In her earlier years, Alice embraced adventure, enjoyed travel, and had a keen interest in home décor. She always found ways to bring beauty and laughter into everyday life.
But her greatest gift was the love and care she showed everyone around her. She had a nurturing heart and a rare kindness that made people from all walks of life feel like family. Her remarkable creative spirit found solutions not only to her own challenges but also to those faced by others. Her warmth and genuine love will forever hold a special place in many hearts.
Alice was preceded in death by her loving parents, her brother the late Walter Lomax Jr., and her great niece Sharon Lomax.
Alice's memory will be forever cherished by her daughter, April Quarles of Jeffersonville, Indiana. She also leaves behind a legacy of love in her nephews Andrew Lomax and Christopher Thompson, her great nephews Fernandez Allen and Andrew Allen, her nieces Rosa Lomax and Rebecca Lomax, and her great nieces Jessica Lomax, and Jasmine Allen.
Alice will be laid to rest alongside her parents and brother at Eastern Cemetery at a later date. Her gentle spirit, steadfast faith, and loving heart will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
