Rae Frances Carroll, a devoted mother and a master baker whose kindness touched many lives, passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2025. She was 91 years old. Born on New Year's Eve in 1933 to Raymond Tiller and Catherine Petersen , Rae's life was a testament to her generous spirit.

Rae was a faithful parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a dedicated mother to her three sons. People knew her for her incredible cakes, which she baked with love and skill, and her reputation for baking grew by word-of-mouth throughout her life. Beyond the kitchen, Rae was an active member of her community, volunteering at Providence High School and serving as a poll worker at East Lawn.

She will be deeply missed by her surviving family, including her sons, Brian P. Carroll (Madonna) and Paul A. Carroll; her grandchildren, Allyson Carroll (Rourke), Ashley Goodrow (Faron), and Tara McNatt (Darin); and her great-grandson, Trevor Usellis.

Rae was reunited in death with her husband Charles R. Hotz Carroll, son Raymond J. Carroll; her stepfather, Pete Kulczyski; and her sister, Joann Smith.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, from 5-8:00 p.m. at E.M. Coots' Sons Funeral Home.
