Obituary of Alice Catherine Nephew
Alice Catherine Nephew, 50, of Saginaw, MN passed away in her home on March 4, 2025. She was born in Lima, Ohio on April 1, 1974 to Christine (Haag) and Dale Nephew Sr.
Alice graduated from Denfeld High School in 1992 and afterward joined the Army National Guard at Camp Ripley. She later transferred to the Air National Guard, attaining the rank of SMSgt, and was an active duty member of the 148th at the time of her death. Alice lived much of her life in the Proctor area of northern Minnesota and moved to Saginaw with the love of her life. Alice was a fun loving and a supportive mom who enjoyed traveling. She was involved in the planning of events at the Duluth Air National Guard Base including the Airshow and volunteered to serve Thanksgiving dinner at the DECC nearly every year.
Alice was preceded in death by her father, Dale Nephew, Sr.
She is survived by her partner, Mark Medford, her mother Chris Nephew, her brother Dale Nephew Jr., her sister, Danielle (Steve) Lundeen, her son Kole Hiemenz, and nieces and nephews. May she rest in peace.
She will be laid to rest at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery - Duluth at 10 am on April 1, 2025. Afterward a Celebration of Life will be held in her honor from 1 pm to 5pm at The Buffalo House.
