Alice Olcsvary Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Allen-Summerhill Funeral Home & Crematory - DeLand on Oct. 31, 2023.
Alice Faye Olcsvary was born on September 4th, 1938 in Kenosha, Wisconsin. As the youngest of four children, Alice's childhood was filled with endless light, love, laughter, and memories that she shared with her three older siblings, Ed, Gloria, and Shirley, and her parents, Lilly and Paul Kleinschmidt, whom she lovingly called "Ma and Pa."
As her friends and family members would say, Alice had a bold and spunky personality, a penchant for spicy language, and had no problem saying exactly what was on her mind. It was that same spunk that led her to the love of her life, John Olcsvary aka Attila Alder Olcsvary, a marine who took her breath away from the moment she laid eyes on him. It didn't take long for them to declare their love for one another and they were soon married in a courthouse wedding on November 16, 1957.
Together, the couple raised 4 children in the town that she had grown up in and loved dearly. She is survived by her three daughters, Linda Durapau and husband Robert Durapau of Deltona, Florida, Kelly Winchell-Olcsvary and husband, Adrian Winchell of Hollywood, Florida, and Lisa Neel and husband, Maurice Neel of Myersville, Maryland, and predeceased by her son, Paul Olcsvary. Alice was incredibly saddened by the loss of her son and later her husband whom she missed dearly.
Alice raised her children with the same spirit and passion that she learned from her childhood. The family shared an abundance of life, filled with Sunday drives, food-filled picnics, family softball games, road-trips, and weekends spent at the lake, water skiing, fishing and camping. She was a talented cook, and was known for her favorite Italian bombers and spaghetti and meatball recipe. She was a Hollywood enthusiast and loved watching anything that featured her favorite stars including, Paul Newman, Robert Redford, Dolly Parton, Glen Campbell, Elvis, Barbara Streisand, and Burt Reynolds.
When she wasn't watching her favorite movies and tv shows, she could be found swimming, playing card games, indulging in her great love for ice cream, or sharing a poor man's bloody mary on the porch with a friend. And of course, above all, she loved visiting with her seven grandchildren, Jeremy, Valerie, Tyler, Montana, Kendal, Justin, and Ian.
Although she will be missed, she will be happy spending eternity reuniting with her husband, son, and loved ones that have gone before her.
