Alice Pavlik went to heaven on Tues. 19 March 2024 to be with Jesus and
Grandma Ruby.
Alice enjoyed helping people. She started out her work life as a waitress then
women's store clerk, helping others dress for their successes. Then as a volunteer
probation officer for the city of Detroit, she guided first offender women dealing
with drugs and prostitution offenses, helping them learn to make better life choices.
Her altruistic nature led her to a career in new and resale home sales as sales
staff or sales manager, helping home buyers make difficult decisions to have their
dream home within their budget. Then onto Construction Sales where she assisted
builders by generating cost estimates for materials and supplies for large
commercial projects. As a Home Mortgage Loan Officer she wrote thousands of
home loans, including many for first-time buyers needing lots of advice to get their
dream home within their own realistic budget. As an Associate Member of a BASM
(Business model, Assumptions, Strategy, Management), she was awarded Associate
of the Year for her efforts to achieve better housing for all, including her interest in
Habitat for Humanity as a hands-on experience for young people and the new homeowners. Alice then looked to another endeavor, purchasing Beneker Travel Agency in East Detroit. Eventually she moved to Phoenix, AZ starting a new travel agency, helping people plan vacations to another state or across the globe.
In her spare time, Alice enjoyed assisting the local Navy League, helping
many young folks mature from teens to adulthood and figuring out what they wanted
to do with their lives. Another spare time endeavor was a Volunteer Tax Assistant
to help people in Macomb County get their taxes filled out correctly. Each house
she lived in she created an extensive flower garden to attract and feed pollinators
and butterflies and offer a place for neighbors and family to gather and relax.
Even with all this she found time to raise, hug and love 5 wonderful daughters.
After retirement she took several positions helping others with simple tasks to
make life easier like finding housing, medical equipment (walkers, wheelchairs,
commodes) or whatever needed even if they didn't have Medicare/Medicaid to pay for
it. She never stopped helping.
She leaves behind 5 daughters, 3 sons-in-law, many grand, great-grand and
great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Celebration of life for Alice Pavlik will be held 12:00pm on 20 April 2024 at St. Patrick Episcopal Church, 1434 E. 13 Mile Rd., Madison Heights, MI 48071 with Fr. Paul LeClair officiating. In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Patrick's Church. See the website
