Mrs. Perine (as she always was to me) was such a special teacher! I am so terribly sorry for her family at this loss - and grateful for the time I and my Junior High peers got to spend with her reading Shakespeare, parsing sentences, and being treated with such kindness. Mrs. Perine went above and beyond - staying late for a couple of months when this puny 8th grader decided to write and direct a play and needed a teacher to chaperone us. May her memory be for a blessing always. Pam Nessen Karlin

I recently met Mrs. Perine while on a class trip with MUHS students to meet with Eastview residents as a part of a class. Her great granddaughter, her namesake, was one of the students. A truly special moment in so many ways. I've known her daughter in law Carolyn for a very long time and I send my best wishes to the whole family. What a full and rewarding life. She leaves a lasting legacy to the town of Middlebury and all of Addison County. I'm so glad I had the chance to meet her.

Many years ago I had Mrs. Perine for my English teacher. She was a joy, always with a smile and kind words for all. I only hope that I was able to incorporate some of her caring ways into my teaching of language arts at the 5/6 grade level. May you rest in peace after a long life.
