Alice Louise Rummer, a beloved resident of Lowell, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on August 28, 1939, in Lowell, Alice spent her entire life in the community she cherished.
Alice was a dedicated Dietary Aid at Selby General Hospital, where she worked tirelessly until her retirement in 2008. Her commitment to her work and her caring nature left a lasting impression on her colleagues and the many patients she served.
Alice was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ernest Eugene Rummer Sr., whom she married on February 19, 1956. She was also preceded by her parents, Guy and Grace Peters Brown, and her siblings, Raymond Brown, Bertha Mae, Sis Woodruff, Dorothy Martin, Viola Tullius, George Brown, Henry Brown, and Robert Brown.
She is survived by her devoted children, son Ernest "Ernie" Rummer, Jr. (Lori), and daughters Brenda Greenwalt (David), Bonnie Rummer, and Sharon Rummer. Alice was a proud grandmother to Brandon Rummer (Tiffany), Tina Petty (Adam), Michelle Greenwalt, Lauren Rummer (Justin Ford), and Teya Eckert, and a cherished great-grandmother to Adison, Brayden, Kyra, McKenna, Gavin, Landan, Haydyn, Zander, and Zadyn. She is also survived by her sister, Mary "Kathy" Border.
Alice found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially spending time outdoors. She could often be found on her front porch, enjoying the fresh air with her faithful dog, Casper, by her side.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation at THE LOWELL CHAPEL OF CAWLEY & PEOPLES FUNERAL HOME, on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A funeral service to honor Alice's life will be held at the same location on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at 1:00 pm.
