Alice Lynn Schrock

Alice Lynn Bailey Schrock, born on August 10, 1948, in Key West, Florida, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025, in Flat Rock, North Carolina, at the age of 77. Lynn, as she was affectionately known, lived a life full of love, laughter, and dedication to those she cherished.

Lynn was preceded in death by her beloved parents, William Bailey and June Sisk Bailey, as well as her brother, William Bailey. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Marci Bailey, and nephew, Bill Bailey, both of Lynchburg, Virginia. Also surviving are her special cousins, Billie Jo Hadlock Powell(Paul) and family of Charlottesville, Virginia, and Dick Hadlock (Meg) and family of Augusta, Georgia. Her cherished poodle, Abby, will now reside with dear friends Robin Gaines and Barbara Gentle, who were like family to Lynn.

A respected elementary school teacher for 30 years within the Lynchburg City School System, Lynn touched countless lives with her dedication and passion for education. Her influence extended beyond the classroom, as she was known for her infectious joy and loyalty, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her.

Lynn earned her Master's degree from Lynchburg College, where she forged friendships that would last a lifetime. Her love for UVA women's basketball led her to many memorable moments shared with friends from Lynchburg and new acquaintances met at games in Charlottesville, some of whom became very special and dear friends.

In 2024, Lynn moved to Flat Rock, NC, Where she developed many cherished friendships. Her presence brought happiness to those around her, and her fabulous sense of humor and love of life made her a joy to be with.

Per Lynn's wishes, no formal services will be held. Her legacy of love, friendship, and laughter will forever be remembered by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched. Lynn was a dear, sweet, loving friend to many and will be sorely missed by all.
