Alice Paulette Sparks, 80, of Anniston, Alabama, passed away peacefully at her home on October 18, 2025, surrounded by her family and friends.
Born on January 18, 1945, in Anniston, Paulette was the daughter of Paul Preston Andrews and Annie Lafayette Andrews. She graduated from Walter Wellborn High School in 1963 and maintained lifelong bonds with her classmates, serving on the reunion committee and cherishing those enduring friendships.
Paulette dedicated 38 years of service to Huron Valley steel. Her dedication and strong work ethic left a lasting impression on her colleagues. She enjoyed working at The Storage Locker Thrift Store for the past 10 years. She did not meet a stranger and enjoyed helping others in need.
A faithful member of Eulaton United Methodist Church, Paulette found strength and joy in her church community.
She is lovingly remembered by her son Paul Sparks (Sherry), daughter Marsha Pope (Steve), sister Geraldine Brickhouse (Frank), grandchildren Dillan Pope (Meghan), Will Sparks, Korey Sparks, Nicholas Pope (Callie), Dylan Raney, great-grandchildren Payton Sparks, Evie Sparks, Ashlyn Sparks, Allison Pope, nieces Ann Armstrong, Shirley Graves (Marvin), Wanda Duncan, nephews Jerry Helton (Wanda), James Dutton (Lisa) and sister-in-law Claudette Anderson. She also leaves behind several great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Lafayette Andrews, brother Mark Helton, Willie Helton, sisters Mae Holley, Pearl Dutton, nephew Tom Armstrong, and Mark Helton Jr.
Paulette lived her life to the fullest. She enjoyed cooking and baking for loved ones. She was a devoted sports fan and loved cheering for Alabama football and Braves baseball. She enjoyed fishing on peaceful days with her grandsons. She enjoyed being outdoors working in her yard and planting beautiful flowers, especially roses. She enjoyed playing Bingo and playing slots for fun. She had a passion for decorating her house and yard for Christmas for it was her most favorite time of year. Traveling brought her happiness, but spending time with her family and friends was what she cherished most.
Visitation service will be held on October 26, 2025, from 2-3 PM followed by a memorial service at Eulaton United Methodist Church, 401 Westover Road, Anniston, AL 36201

Paulette was a wonderful person. She always had a smile on her face when she came into the Credit Union. She was a joy to be around and I am sure heaven is loving having her home.
