Alice R. Tauber

Alice Rose (Miller) Tauber, age 75, of Fonda, Iowa passed away on December 9, 2023, at Loring Hospital in Sac City, Iowa.
Memorial Mass will take place Saturday, December 30, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Sebastian, Our Lady of Good Council Catholic Church in Fonda, Iowa. Burial will be in the Mount Zion Catholic Cemetery in Fonda. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the CHURCH. The Mahaney Funeral Home in Fonda is in charge of the arrangements.
Alice was born on January 12, 1948, in Fort Dodge, Iowa to Arthur and Veronica Miller and was the middle child of five siblings. Alice was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. Alice was raised in Fonda, Iowa. She was baptized in the Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Fonda in 1948. She attended school at the O.L.G.C. school where she graduated in 1966. After graduating from high school, she attended Weaver Airline School in Kansas City, Missouri.
Alice married her grade school love, James Lee Tauber, on November 21, 1969. They were blessed with eight children: Chris, Gwen, Ann, Jamie, Amy, Keri, Jeremy, and Jill.
Alice's family was her everything. She enjoyed cooking amazing meals, attending family and school events, shopping, planting flowers, playing cards, and overall, just making others smile. Alice also enjoyed spending time with her friends weekly for coffee. She had a caring personality and had the ability to sense when people needed her help. She touched many lives with her generosity and passion for life. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her and loved her.
Alice was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Fonda.
Those left behind to cherish her memory include her children: Chris (Michele) Tauber of Omaha, Nebraska; Gwen (Brian) Krie of Spencer, Indiana; Ann Coleman of Port Orchard, Washington; Jamie (Mary) Tauber of Fonda, Iowa; Amy (Tony) Stauber of Fonda, Iowa; Keri (Tom) Ryherd of Cherokee, Iowa; Jeremy Tauber of Fonda, Iowa; and Jill (Jeremiah) Stauter of Fonda, Iowa; grandchildren: Kailyn, Brenden, and A.J. Tauber; Madison, Dayton, and Alivia Krie; Alan (Zoila) Coleman and Alex Coleman; Sydney, Ty, Trevor; and Taya Tauber; Brittany, Tim, and Stacey Stauber; Justine, Michael, and Kiersten Ryherd; Emma, Mariah, and Brady Stauter; great grandchildren: Emiliyana and Esmeralda Coleman; brothers: David Miller and Donald Miller; sister: Jeanette Miller; and extended family and friends.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband, James Tauber; her parents: Arthur and Veronica Miller; two sisters: Phyllis Marsalek and Mary Lange; parents-in-law: Otto and Laura Tauber; brothers-in-law: Alan Tauber, Tom Tauber, and Hall Fincher; and sister-in-law: Jeanne Gugino.
Alice will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her love of family, and her commitment to making the world a better place. May she rest in eternal peace.
