Alice Jo Treiber (née Zatko), age 66, passed away on August 20, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. Alice was the loving mother of Tyler S. Treiber II, and caring stepmother of Danielle Treiber (Harry) and Josh Treiber (Amanda). She was a proud and doting grandmother to Eleanor, Jackson, and Taylor. She was also a devoted aunt and godmother to her nephew Stephen (Kati) Barnes. Alice's warmth extended far beyond her immediate family-she is survived by her dear sister Mary Barnes (Ken), many cousins, and countless friends who were blessed to know her. Born to Steve and Mary (Weigand) Zatko, Alice grew up in Salem, Ohio and graduated from Salem High School. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Bowling Green State University, launching a lifelong career committed to caring for others. Alice dedicated much of her professional life as a labor and delivery nurse, first at Mercy Hospital in Canton, and later at MetroHealth in Cleveland, where she retired in 2024 after 26 years of selfless service. Outside of work, Alice found joy in the simple and meaningful moments of life. She loved gardening, baking Christmas cookies, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and extended family. Most of all, she enjoyed providing meals and treats to her family and friends in her home. She was also a faithful member of First Lutheran Church in Strongsville, where her caring spirit and generous heart touched many. Alice's legacy is one of love, service, and unwavering commitment to family and community. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Lutheran Church, 19419 Royalton Road, Strongsville, Ohio 44149 or Thomas P. Perciak Family Residential Hospice,18659 Drake Rd, Strongsville, OH 44136. Visitation will be on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at 10:00 am at First Lutheran Church, 19419 Royalton Road, Strongsville, Ohio with a memorial service following immediately after at 11:00 am.
