Alice L. Williams, age 90, of Millsboro, Delaware, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 15, 2025.

Born in Wilmington, Delaware, on December 12, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Morris and Norah D. (Farrall) Schlifkin. Alice lived a full and adventurous life, with countless stories to share. She could often be found at the beach, reading a good book, tending to her garden, or spending time with family and friends.

At the age of 50, Alice proudly went back to school to become a registered nurse. She devoted her career to caring for others at Emily Bissell Hospital, where she was known for her compassion, patience, and dedication. Following her retirement, Alice continued her lifelong commitment to helping others by volunteering with hospice and serving as an ombudsman-advocating for residents and giving a voice to those who could not speak for themselves. She was admired for her kindness and the profound impact she made in the lives of many.

Alice loved to travel, often joining her brother on trips to explore new countries and spending her winters in Florida. But nothing brought her greater joy than her family. She adored being surrounded by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren-watching them grow, celebrating their milestones, and proudly sharing their accomplishments with anyone who would listen. Her face would light up when they visited, and the love she had for them was endless and unwavering.

Even after being diagnosed with breast cancer, Alice faced every day with strength, independence, and her signature smile. In her final years, she was lovingly cared for by her children, who made sure she was surrounded by comfort, laughter, and love-just as she had always done for them.

Alice was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her children, Sandra Syvy (Gary) of Middletown and Robert C. Williams II (JoAnne) of Millsboro; her brother, George A. Schlifkin of Newark; her grandchildren, Craig Williams (Megan), Kristen Smith, Gary Syvy (Barbara), Ashley Strong (Ryan), Dustin Williams, and Amanda Williams; and her nine great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Williams; her son, Kenneth A. Williams; and her brother, Edward M. Schlifkin.
