Fearless. Courageous. Unapologetically herself.

These are just a few of the words that capture the essence of Alicia Tennille Williams, who departed this life on August 14, 2025, at the age of 47, surrounded by love at Emory Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.

Born on October 4, 1976, in Waycross, Georgia, Alicia was the cherished daughter of Priscilla Ann Brown and Bill Fred Boyd, and the beloved granddaughter of Missionary Mary Lee Williams of Waycross, GA. From an early age, she carried a bold and inquisitive spirit that would define her remarkable journey.

The Renaissance Woman

Alicia was a proud graduate of Ware County High School, Class of 1995. That same year, she was presented as a debutante, a celebration of her grace, pose, and promise. Shortly after graduation, she answered a higher calling of service by joining the United States Air Force, where she honorably served her country for two years. This season of her life reflected her discipline, strength, and unyielding commitment to excellence.

She went on to pursue higher education at Albany State University, earning her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Healthcare Management. While at Albany State, Alicia shined as the Marching Rams Show Band Feature Twirler, and was an active member of the Healthcare Management Club, 100 Friends of Collegiate 100, and the distinguished Holley Ambassadors program.

In 2000, she was crowned Miss Tift, a pageant title that highlighted her radiant presence, elegance, and ability to inspire others through both intellect and grace.

In 2010, Alicia achieved one of her proudest milestones, earning her Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Management and Leadership and Human Resource Management from Troy University. At Troy, she became a member of the National Black MBA Association, the Society for Human Resource Management, and Toastmasters International.

A Distinguished Career

Alicia's professional journey was as dynamic as it was impactful. She began her career with Grady Health System, bringing her expertise to one of Georgia's most respected healthcare institutions. She later served the state of Georgia as a Procurement Specialist, a role in which she combined sharp analytical skills with a passion for public service.

Her corporate career expanded to include Delta Airlines, where she excelled in Supply Chain Management, ensuring efficiency and excellence within one of the world's largest airlines. She then continued her path at AT&T Communications and Procurement, where her leadership, strategic vision, and professionalism made a lasting mark.

Across every role, Alicia was admired not only for her intelligence and capability, but also for the elegance, grace, and confidence with which she carried herself.

Accomplishments & Honors

Beyond her academic and professional endeavors, Alicia was deeply committed to community service and leadership. She was a proud member of the Junior League of DeKalb County and served as a board member for the YMCA, where she was recognized with the YMCA Board Leadership Award.

Her excellence was celebrated through numerous honors, including:

-The Academia Society, Incorporated Crystal Voice Award for Conference Presentation

-The Academia Society Premiere Vendor Award

-Men of Vision of Albany, Georgia Heart of Gold Award

-Cygnus Atratus of Atlanta Pen of Charity Award

Each recognition reflected Alicia's brilliance, generosity, and ability to inspire through service, intellect, and leadership.

A Life of Faith and Legacy

Grounded in faith, Alicia was a devoted member of Cascade United Methodist Church in Atlanta, under the leadership of Senior Pastor Rev. Kevin R. Murriel. Her commitment to community and service reflected the values instilled in her by her family and her faith. Those who knew Alicia will remember her as radiant- courageous in her convictions, refined in her presence, and compassionate at her core. She had a gift for making everyone feel seen, heard, and valued, a reflection of the love and wisdom she carried throughout her life's journey.

Alicia, Working with you in State Purchasing was a joy, and you gave so much! Your light, sense of humor, energy, and commitment to making this a better place by service to others will never be forgotten. So very sad that we will not bump into each other again while shopping or at conferences. May choirs of angels comfort your family and lift you to your well-earned rest.
