Alisa (Lisa) Johnson was born on January 11, 1969, in Paincourtville, Louisiana, to Wellington (Buck) Johnson, Sr. and Constance (Connie) Johnson. She departed this life for her heavenly home on April 20, 2025, at 11:15 a.m.
Lisa accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mt. Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Felton C. Ceasar. She later became a member of St. Paul Baptist Church under Pastor Lauthaught Delaney, Jr.
A proud graduate of Donaldsonville High School, Class of 1987, Lisa loved spending time with her classmates - enjoying outings, gatherings, laughter, and fun. Family and friends were central to her life; she never missed a function, party, or cookout and was known for always being prompt. Lisa made it a daily habit to send words of encouragement and inspiration through text messages to her loved ones.
She was employed at Rouses and Lamendola's Supermarket in Gonzales, Louisiana, until her health declined. Lisa also lovingly babysat and raised many children in her home - caring for children was her true passion.
She leaves to cherish her memory her precious daughter, the love of her life, Ja'Lynn Jacole Garrison of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She is also survived by her parents, Wellington (Buck) Johnson, Sr. of Donaldsonville, Louisiana, and Constance (Connie) Johnson of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; her brothers, Merlin Williams of Baton Rouge and Wellington Johnson, Jr. of Donaldsonville; and her sister, Erica Williams of Baton Rouge. She is remembered fondly by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, two great-great nieces, and one great-great nephew. Lisa also leaves behind eight godchildren: Courtney James, Denzel Dorsey, A'Kristen Williams, Mackaya Jackson, Sachia Hayes, Orlani Nicholas, Cali Fowler, and Remi Fowler.
Lisa's very close friends Nikki Fowler, Cassandra Comery, T'Wila Collins, and Tee Cookie, along with her loving and devoted cousins, Katherine Cohn and Yolanda Dominick Garrison, held a special place in her heart. Her best friend, Eric Johnson, was always by her side - if Lisa was rocking, he was rolling
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Charles and Bessie Turner; her paternal grandparents, Theodore and Lillie Johnson; six uncles; and three aunts
