VILLE PLATTE - Alison Marie Aswell, known for her warm smile and kind heart, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2024, at the age of 47. She was a shining light in the lives of many. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 pm on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Gates of Heaven Cemetery.
Born on May 19, 1976, Alison had a passion for life that was evident in everything she did. Her vibrant personality shone through in all aspects of her life - loving, caring, and deeply religious, Alison touched the hearts of all who knew her.
Alison found joy in simple pleasures. She loved to dance and engage in arts and crafts, always seeking out new ways to express her creativity and spread happiness to those around her. As a guest speaker at the National Special Olympics in Tulsa, OK and Hammond, LA, she inspired others with her words of encouragement and positivity. Her dedication to making a difference in the lives of others was unwavering. From her time at Burger King to her role as a beloved staple at the Ville Platte ARC, Alison greeted everyone she met with that infectious smile that could brighten even the cloudiest of days.
She will be deeply missed by her father, Charles “Chuck” Aswell III (Stella); her brothers, Charles Anthony Aswell (Hailey), Charles Jesse "Jay" Aswell IV and John Derek Aswell (Gina); her sister, Madelyn Allemond; her nieces and nephews, Imee Nagapantan, Mary Katherene Aswell, Vincent Aswell, and numerous friends and family.
Alison is preceded in death by her mother, Deborah Ann Pitre; paternal grandparents, Dr. Charles Aswell, Jr. and Lura Jane Aswell and maternal grandparents, Vincent and Marie Perron.
At the request of the family, a Visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Ville Platte on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm with a Rosary prayed at 6:00 pm. Visitation will resume on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at 8:00 am until the time of service.
