It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Alison.
Alison L. (Parker) Scharlott, age 52, of Powell, Ohio passed away on February 5th, 2024 in Powell, Ohio. She was born July 27th, 1971 to Thomas L. and Ellamae Parker in Newark, New Jersey. She was a Financial Advisor with Nationwide for 20 years.
Alison is preceded in death by her mother, Ellamae Parker; and brother, Wayne Parker. She is survived by her daughter, Ellamae Scharlott; son, Gabe Scharlott; sisters, Dawn Battaglia and Rachel Lothringer; brothers, Thomas Parker, Sean Parker, Jeff Parker, and Todd Parker.
Alison was born in Newark, New Jersey, she was child #4 out of 8 siblings. She was raised in Forked River, New Jersey. She was a Cheerleader throughout her school years. Upon graduating high school, she attended Florida State University where she received her college degree and would remain a loyal Seminole's fan for the remainder of her life. Alison graduated from Florida's Correctional Probation Academy and worked initially as a parole and probation officer. She then decided to change her career path and was hired by Nationwide as a Financial consultant, which she did for the remainder of her adult life. This year was her 20th anniversary with Nationwide. Alison was a fixture in the community, she was a cheerleading coach working tirelessly and traveling all over the country with her cheer team. Alison was a devoted daughter and spent much time with our mother after mom was diagnosed with cancer. Alison made it a point to involve herself with all her siblings, she would always call or simply visit us. Alison was outgoing and energetic. Alison in 2006 married Greg Scharlott and gave birth to 2 children, Gabe and Ellamae (mom's namesake) and enjoy her life and family in Powell, Ohio.
Services will be at Rutherford Funeral Home at Powell, 450 West Olentangy Street, Powell, OH 43065. Visitation will be Saturday, February 17, 2024 from 11 AM to 2 PM with a funeral service at 2 PM.
