Allan R. Bohner, 89, of Ventura, California passed away peacefully on August 22, 2025 after a short battle with cancer. Allan was born on July 28, 1936 in Fort Wayne, Indiana and spent his early years there. His family relocated to Santa Monica, California during his teenage years where he graduated from Saint Monica's High School and then served in the U.S. Army stationed in North Africa. Upon his return, Allan attended the Institute of Technology. He married Carol Drum in December 1958. Allan and Carol were married for almost 67 years and have four children. Allan raised his family in Lakewood, California where he served in the National Guard for 14 years and then went to work for Hughes Helicopters. In 1985, the company transferred him to Mesa, Arizona where he worked for an additional 15 years at what eventually became Boeing as a Technical Writer for the AH-64 Apache helicopter. It was during these years in Arizona where he became a grandfather for the first time. Allan and his growing family enjoyed spending time boating and vacationing. After retiring from Boeing in 2000, Allan and Carol lived in Clear Lake, California and then moved to Ventura, California to be closer to family. He and Carol have enjoyed attending Our Lady of the Assumption parish where they continued their strong faith. Allan is survived by his wife, Carol, his four children: Michael Bohner (Julie) of Chandler, AZ; Kathleen Gonzales (Robert) of Menifee, CA; Susan Vargas (Sergio) of Ventura, CA; and Christopher Bohner of Ventura, CA; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and his sister, Dorla Scholz, of Colfax, WA.

Family and friends are invited to a Most Holy Rosary to be recited at 12 Noon on Wednesday September 3, 2025 in Our Lady of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, 3175 Telegraph Road Ventura, where a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12:30pm. Arrangements are under the directions of Joseph P. Reardon Funeral Home, 757 E. Main Street, Ventura, California.
