Allan Cieniewicz, age 71, of Wilmington, Delaware passed away on Friday, November 14, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.
Born in 1953, Allan was a proud 1971 graduate of Conrad High School, where he built lifelong friendships. A talented athlete, he played baseball in Little League for the VFW and Men's Softball for Bear Alignment, highlights of his youth that he remembered fondly.
Allan's professional journey began in HVAC, where he learned the value of hard work, before joining MBNA and later Bank of America, where he enjoyed a long and dedicated career.
One of the greatest joys of his life was his Saturday ritual with a tight-knit group of friends, affectionately known as "The Breakfast Club." Their gatherings also included legendary NFL coach Dick Vermeil, former coach of the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs, who became a beloved part of the weekly tradition. Another cherished tradition was his weekly lunches with his cousins, Janice Rehm and Cindy Dombrowski, a time he looked forward to and deeply valued.
Allan was predeceased by his parents, Alfred and Marion (Mieczkowski) Cienceiwicz; his brother, Ronald "Ronnie" Cienceiwicz; and his longtime girlfriend, Deborah Cebanka.
He is survived by his cousins, Janice Rehm (John), Phyllis Quinn (Robert), Cindy Morrow (Anthony), and second cousin Cindy Dombrowski; as well as many dear friends, including his closest companions Dominick Albano and Skip Twardowski, all of whom felt like family.
Allan especially loved the children of his cousins and was a proud supporter at their sports games, dance competitions, and milestones, always showing up with enthusiasm and genuine joy for everything they accomplished.
He had a sharp curiosity for life-an active stock-market enthusiast, a devoted race-car fan, a hunter, and someone who enjoyed weightlifting and never missed an episode of his favorite shows, Everyone Loves Raymond and Law & Order.
Allan will be remembered for his loyalty, his humor, his stories, and the way he made everyone around him feel welcomed and valued. His presence will be deeply missed.
Family and friends are invited to visit at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 4th Street and Bancroft Parkway, Wilmington on Friday, November 21 from 10:30 – 11:45AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00PM, immediately followed by interment at All Saints Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Allan would appreciate donations to a charity supporting people with disabilities, The Arc of Delaware, 2 S. Augustine Street, Suite B, Wilmington, DE 19804.
