Allen A. Brown

Allen A. Brown, Jr. 91 of passed away Monday, May 12, 2025. He was born January 15, 1934 in Valparaiso, the son of Allen A. and Margret (Wyland) Brown. Allen was a pipe fitter and plumber at United States Steel for 45 years. He was a Petty Officer, 3rd class with the US Navy, a member of Steelworkers Local #1014 (Soar), the Valpo Delts, Midwest Aquatiers Scuba Team and the Gary Sportsmen Club. On September 24, 1955 he married Marilyn (Freed) Brown, who preceded him in death December 22, 2008. Surviving are his sons, Jeffrey Allen (Palasteen) Brown of Hanna, Timothy J. (Gail) Brown of Winnebago, IL. and Christopher Scott (Barbara) Brown of Clyde, OH, 4 grandchildren, Jeff Brown (Samantha), Maranda Brown (Clinton), Katie Brown (Jerry), Nathan Brown (Hillary), and 8 great grandchildren. Brothers Ralph Brown, Dave Brown and John Brown and sisters Marguerite R. Dalia, Sue Beall and Kathleen Howard. He was a preceded in death by his son Joel R. Brown, his parents, and sister, Marguerite Dalia. Visitation will be held Saturday, May 31, 2025, 9 to 11 am With Services at 11:00 am at Bartholomew Funeral Home, 102 Monroe St. Valparaiso. Memorials may be made to VNA Hospice.
