Graduated from Jackson Township High School in 1951. Graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management in 1958. Served in the US Navy in Naval Intelligence.
Past President of Valpo Noon Kiwanis, Past President of Valparaiso Band Parents, Member of Terre Haute Jaycees, Served as Board Member and Vice President of Chicagoland Chrysler-Jeep Association and as Board Member of Chicagoland Dodge Dealers Association, involved with Valparaiso Chamber of Commerce and Nature Works Conservancy District. Master Mason on April 26, 1977 at Porter Lodge #137 in Valparaiso.
Survived by his wife, son Jeffrey Wieland of Lafayette, In, daughter LeeAnn (Gary) Kirkpatrick of Spring Valley, OH, step-children Stacey (Gus) Mergins and Tina (Jeff) St. Aubin of Valparaiso. Grandchildren Deanna Wieland, Cole and Grant St. Aubin, Ansis and Anna Mergins. Also nieces and nephews.
He loved boating on Lake Michigan, downhill skiing, and distance running – completed the Chicago marathon in 1985. He and his wife split their time between Valparaiso and Florida.
Preceded in death by his parents and 8 brothers and sisters.
